*We guarantee that if for any reason after the grub proofing is applied you should have grub damage, we will come back to treat the grubs and fix the damage for no additional cost.*

We highly recommend choosing grub proofing to better protect your lawn against grubs and guarantee all grub treatments will be included in your service.

Customers that DO NOT sign up for our grub proofing service run a higher risk of having grubs damage your lawn and will be responsible for covering the cost of fixing any damage and treating grubs.

If you start to see animals digging in your yard or any big brown spots appear in

the Spring or Fall call us and we'll check it out! It could be grubs!

You can also check your own lawn for grubs as shown in the pictures above.
Walk around your lawn and pull on any dead/brown grass areas. If the grass roots are not attached and it pulls up like a carpet that is usually a sign of grubs. You will also be able to see active grubs on the surface of the soil or underneath the soil and the ground will be loose. If the grass does not come up easily and the soil is firm and compact then it is not a sign of grubs.

If grubs are found in your lawn you will need a grub
curative applied.

Grub Curative (Dylox): Used to treat active grubs.

  • Applied in granular form to all damaged areas of lawn where grubs are active.

  • Must be watered in after applied to soak into the soil where the grubs are in order to work properly.

  • Grubs will start to die off within a few days.

  • Damaged areas may need to be seeded.

  • Any mowing can be done after the treatment has been watered in and the lawn has had at least a day to settle.

Lime
We offer lime treatments too!

Lime is a very important part of any lawn care program and should not be over looked. Without lime, most lawns in New England will have acidic soil which grass does not grow well in. Lime raises the pH of your soil to a more neutral level. Soil that has a pH of 7 will allow your grass to grow better and stronger and will utilize more of the nutrients in the fertilizer. We test the soil pH for all new customers when applying the 1st service and make recommendations.

Lime can also be used to help control moss growth in your lawn. Moss likes to grow in acidic soil, so as your soil pH rises it reduces the ability for moss to grow.

Benefits of lime:

  • Increases the pH level in your lawn.

  • Grass grows best at a soil pH of 7.

  • Most New England soils are one to three points below that level.

  • A proper pH is important because it dictates how efficiently your lawn can utilize nutrients.

  • When the pH is low, nutrients are under-utilized or lost. When the pH is at the proper level, more nutrients  become available  to the grass.

  • Helps over time to reduce moss growth in your lawn.

  • We do a simple pH test at the time of your first service and base our lime recommendations on the test result.
